Practically Perfect, Horribly Horrid Headband.

This is the matching head band for the tutu that I made.  It was kinda an impromptu thing.  I just thought that the tutu kinda needed something to pull the whole thing together.  I have to say that this headband was not, very easy.  It looks easier to make than it is.  I had to like tac it onto an extra piece of fabric left over from the skirt, it kept getting tangled up in the machine, and then....  Well, you dont want to hear my sob story about how the headband.  The only thing that matters is that I did, finally, get it done.  Hopefully it turned out cute!  I think it did.

Don't you love my model.  I know, like, cutest little girl ever right?

Thanks for looking!

Twirly Tutu.

Wow!  It's been quite a while since I've posted, most of you by this time probably thought that I was dead.   I am however very much alive and you will just have to deal with my little posts until the nest time Rebecca posts. (which is no doubt the reason you are here.)  However, I hope that I am somehow able to make it up to all of you (if any) who frequent this blog.

Anywho, I have been wanting to make a tutu for my little sister Liberty for quite some time now.  It was only recently that I actually built up the courage to cut up all that beautiful material and make it into an even more beautiful tutu.  I think that I was afraid that I would mess it up.  (it is not at all entirely impossible that I still have.)

It was SO easy!  I really want to make another one!  I was thinking that they would make awesome christmas presents.  For like cousins or *cough* Sisters *cough*.

Anyway, with the holiday season coming on I should be getting into my crafting mood again.

I took all these pictures with my iPod by the way.  They're not too bad for that camera.

Supplies: Ribbon, Tulle (I got 1 yard of each color) , Scissors, and a paper towel roll.

First you cut your ribbon to fit the persons waist that you are making it for, and cut your tulle into strips.  Then you tie the ribbon around the paper towel roll.   And begin tying your strips on in whatever order you want (slip knot) until you have enough tho go around the persons waist and....  Ta-Da!  There you have it.  Your own tutu!  It is so much fun!  and very easy.

Thanks for reading!

Ella's Purple Gift Basket

Little Ella was born about a month ago. And for her shower I put together a basket of some hand made items for her to wear and use. Here are some of the items I put in...

1. A Binky holder, Purple and white go so well together!!

2.Little new born flats, I got the sewing pattern HERE

3. And then I bought to much fabric for those little shoes that I decided to make up a ruffled three tiered skirt to match the shoes. Cute Huh??

Well shame on me, I didn't get any pictures of the finished basket put together, The only other thing that I put in the finished present was a white onesie to go with the skirt and shoes!! :)

So there you have it, a Purple filled basket of hand made goods!! It was fun to put together and figure out things what to even put in it!!

I hope your Monday is going well

Baby Sweater

I have not written in a while.... it is not quite all my fault, the internet is having problems. without internet means no blog post. We still don't have internet at home, I am writting from a free Wi-Fi area. I have been itching to get back to blogging these last few months.

Though I have not written, does not mean I have not been bust with making thing's this winter season. I was very busy before Christmas. Making cards, a tutu, a scrapbook, and ornaments. I was so busy with these things that I didn't even have time to take pictures of the finished projects, which I wish I were able to share with you. But it is a New Year to make new things!! I have many things in mind for birthday gifts, and even some Christmas gifts. But I will share more of that when I have them finished.

For today I do have something to share. I knitted a sweeter. It was originally for my niece but I realized with the amount of yarn I had, it would not fit her. Determined to use up this yarn, that has been sitting for some time, waiting to be used, I decided to finish the project.

This was a very simple pattern I found on Lion Brand Yarn website. It's made with the basic knit and purl stitches. I altered some of the pattern, for example the hood was to be all garter stitch, but I thought that it would be cute to broder the hood like the rest of the sweeter.

It didn't take me very long , if I added up ll the time. I started this project in October and only finished it a couple of weeks ago. I put it down to get the Christmas projects finished first :)

Now the question is "Who is this cute sweater going to be for?" I have been asking myself. Well at the moment I do not know. I think I will save it until someone I know has a baby girl of if I feel I can't give it up, I will save it for when, Lord willing, have a baby. Well that is all for now. I am hoping to post at least once a week. So be on the look out!!
